More about Kimmie

Kimmie, a sweet and friendly two-year-old kitty was rescued as a pregnant stray. She tested positive for FIV, the disease equivalent to human HIV. Now, that doesn't mean she's contagious to humans or dogs, just cats by bodily fluids. Kimmie can live a long and healthy life as long as she gets good food and regular standard medical care.

Kimmie's kittens tested negative for FIV (we sighed with relief) and after eight weeks of excellent care by Kimmie, they were adopted to new families. But nobody adopted poor Kimmie.

We won't give up on Kimmie just because she has FIV. She is so very sweet and deserves a happy life. She is used to dogs and kids so really any family without another cat would be great...as long as she was loved and well cared for.

Update: 4/12/09
Here's what what Kimmie's foster mom has to say: She's been a little angel, and she is very playful. She loves to chase things and does some of the most wonderful somersaults while she plays.
She is a bit shy when someone new comes over but warms up quickly.

UPDATE 6-10-09 Kimmie still waits for a family to call her own. She is so friendly and playful. Won't you consider this adorable kitty?

UPDATE 10-20-09 Kimmie moved to a new foster home where she is getting settled. She prefers to stay in one room but when people come in the room she is very affectionate.

Want to meet Kimmie? The first step is to fill out an Adoption Application. Learn more about our Adoption Process. The adoption donation for Kimmie is $100. For details about our adoption donation, read The Cost of Adoption.
