Youth Club Learns About Dog Tethering

Date: February 08, 2010

Sunday February 9 was our monthly youth club meeting. The topic was dogs that are tethered outside 24 hours a day year round. The kids saw a video by Dogs Deserve Better, an organization dedicated to ending the practice of dogs being tethered outside. Then Sandy, the AEAR director spoke to the kids about why tethering is bad and discussed local and state laws and ordinances.

After the movie the kids made orange bracelets in preparation for prevention of Animal Cruelty month in April. The kids were quizzed on animal facts and shared social time and snacks.

Special four-legged guest was Binky, the terrier mix, who is under AEAR's care until she is adopted.

Fun was had by all.
