Donate to a Special Cause

This has been a very difficult week for us at AEAR. Our mission is to help animals primarily in Lake County. This past week we have done a lot to help both animals and people but our expenses are piling up!

We took in a stray cat from Libertyville with an injured leg. The leg has neurological damage and must be amputated. We need more donations to pay for the medical expenses.

One of our pups named Daphne, who we took from a home that was condemned, came down with parvo. She is being treated at the animal hospital.

To add to that a woman called us this morning in tears because her cat was sick and she couldn't afford medical care. The cat was gravely ill. We didn't want the cat to suffer or die and the woman obviously loved her cat. She was even willing to surrender the cat if she could get it help. We contacted our vet and he agreed to treat the cat at our expense, at our discount.

Finally, we agreed to help a local woman who's cats were flea infested and living with a friend in a flea infested house. She said she couldn't keep her cats where she was living and had no money and was unemployed. We gave the cats their shots, treated them for the fleas and have them boarding at the animal hospital. She was going to make $5.00 a month payments to us. Now the woman no longer wants the cats and we have to foot the bill and find them a foster home.

All those expenses plus all the regular every day medical and operating expenses. We need your help so we can keep helping!
