Diesel was brought to AEAR during the holidays. He was purchased as a puppy from a pet shop and stayed with his family for two and one half years. Unfortunately, his owner is currently experiencing personal problems and was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to put Diesel up for adoption.
Diesel's foster mother says he is a sweet little puggle who loves belly rubs. He's good with dogs and cats and exhibits no signs of aggression. He shares the food bowl with the family dog and likes to run and play. He is completely housebroken.
Diesel is all beagle when it comes to using his nose to lead him and all "wiggle butt" which is most likely a pug trait. He does not like being in a crate -- perhaps a sign that he was never crated. Diesel responds to the word "NO"; however, he could use some training when it comes to table manners. Diesel loves everyone. He needs to learn not to jump on people when he says his hellos. At 25 to 30 pounds, he could easily knock a small child down. With a little positive reinforcement, this problem could easily be resolved.
Diesel is a friendly and happy go lucky dog who would be a wonderful addition to a kind and loving family. For more information on adopting Diesel or any of our other homeless animals, please feel free to contact AEAR at (847) 816-0831 or visit www.aear.org.
