More about Zack

Zack is a sweet, well trained dog. He gets along great with other dogs and cats.  He loves car rides, walks and adores being around people and snuggling. A true beagle, Zack has a one-track mind when outside and is always picking up scents. Because of this, he needs to always be on a leash or find a home with a fenced in yard. When he finds a scent to chase, he announces it with a loud, braying bark.

Zack says he would prefer a home without young children since they can be unpredictable and he likes things to stay the way he wants them to.

UPDATE 1/3/2012
Sadly, Zack has been returned to AEAR.  His new family said he was a wonderful boy the majority of the time and loves snuggling and playing with their other dogs.  However, he was having multiple incidents of snapping when someone would try and mess with him like putting on a harness or wiping his feet.  He has been placed back in his former foster home and we are beginning a course of training to try and desensitize him to this type of handling.  Overall, Zack is a very sweet little beagle so we are hoping we can help him get comfortable enough to trust people to handle him without feeling the need to defend himself.  This type of behavior modification will likely take some time to work though until we know if we are successful so please keep little Zack in your thoughts.
