We need your help. We have had a dog for over a year now and the foster family just cannot keep her anymore. Her name is
Yaya. Our best guess is she's a husky mix and is about 50 pounds or so. She had a HORRIBLE start. She was found as a
... stray in Waukegan. Animal control warden said, "she was the skinniest dog I have ever seen, if she hadn't been dead." To top that off it was discovered that she was pregnant. She was rushed to the animal hospital where she almost lost her life and all but one puppy died. Because of her physical and emotional state the puppy was taken at birth and raised by another nursing mom.
Yaya had major trust issues. (Could you blame her?) One of our volunteer foster moms took great pity on her and knew her options were very slim besides being put to sleep. So she took the fearful, untrusting dog home with her.
Since then Yaya has gotten much much better but she still as trust issues with new people. Here is what her foster mom says:
She loves to lounge around and watch TV with you.
She likes women (men are good too once she gets to know them)
She loves the outdoors and wont let a little rain keep her inside
She likes small dogs and goofy dogs
She loves to go for walks
She's very confident, though kind of a spaz
Once she decides she loves you, SHE ADORES YOU
We need to place Yaya in a new foster home or forever home right away. her foster mom said her family is putting pressure on her to place her. Plus the foster homes little dogs, purebred dachshunds, are terrorizing her!! Please share this far and wide. We are happy to answer any questions and can set up a time for a perspective family to meet her. Please share!!! If you can help let us know, thanks!See More
