DESCRIPTION:ONLINE CLASS\n2-Part Class |  May 5th and May 12\nSign-Up Now\nLearn to provide a temporary home for pets in need!\nThis is a certification program for all animal lovers around the world who would like to become a foster parent to an animal in need. \nThe certification program does not guarantee that you will be able to foster for our organization or any other\, but it will give you the credentials in order to better represent yourself to any organization you wish to volunteer for. \nWhat you will learn: \n\nThe history of animal shelters and rescue organizations.\nThe reason for the need for foster families.\nThe laws that are in place for animals.\nThe structure of most rescue organizations.\nHow animals are promoted through their organizations.\nWhat to expect when fostering an animal.\nHow to prepare for your foster animal.\nHow to best protect your foster animal while they are in your care.\nBasic first aid for pets.\nGeneral practices for screening potential adopters of your foster animal.\nPreparing your foster animal for adoption.\nCommunicating with your organization on a regular basis.\nHandling emergencies.\n\nThe class is set up to run for two weeks or a total of four hours of training. After each class\, a quiz will be sent to you via email. You must get 80% correct in order to pass. The quiz needs to be handed in before the next class. \nAfter the second class and after an 80% or more score on your quiz\, you will then get a letter and certificate that indicates that you have passed the Foster care certification program. \nThe goal of this program is to provide more information to potential foster families. This will also assist other shelters and rescue organizations in giving some pre-training to potential volunteers. \nWhile each organization functions somewhat differently\, there are a lot of similarities between organizations\, and a lot that will be taught in this class that will benefit any volunteer foster family for any organization anywhere. \nThe cost of the class is $25. The class is nonrefundable. 100% of the cost of the class goes back to Animal Education and Rescue to help us continue our mission of educating society. \nClass fee: $25 (covers both sessions)
